Pastor Rudy Brooks Bio
I am Pastor Lewis LaRue Brooks known to many as Pastor Rudy and was born in Pueblo, Colorado and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and accumulated 20 yrs of active and reserve service. I was introduced to God as a child and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1993. My call into the Clergy Ministry came in 2004 while a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach Va. And after two years in ministry training under the leadership and teaching of the late Bishop William Darrell Scott, I was given the opportunity to preach my initial sermon and was licensed in October 2006.
I was ordained in 2012 by Pastor Vernon Abney at St Peters Baptist church in Pensacola, Florida. And was an associate minister at Baptist Union Baptist Church Buckingham, Va under the Leadership of Pastor Timothy Jackson. At this time I am working towards my Bachelor of Arts in Ministry studies at the International Seminary in Plymouth Florida.
I am married to Charemon Brooks and we have four children and four grandchildren and I stand on the promises of God in my life. One of my favorite quotes is: Time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
I am also seeking to do what God has called me to do in accordance with the scripture: 1Co 9:16 that says …“For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel” One of my favorite Scriptures comes from Isaiah 40:31 “but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint”.
